Very rare carriage trunk belonged to a noble family.
The period, probably deduced from the details, is the late 18th century/early 19th century.
Rounded lid, iron handles on the sides, several reinforcements in sheet metal on the sides and metal reinforcements on the corners. The solid wooden structure is covered with animal leather on the external part and lined with fabric inside. 
All the metal fixings were riveted.
Two locks with safety key
available and working.
There is another safety catch
with padlock closure system.
With normal signs of age 
and use, as per
photos.
Restorations, replacements.

Very solid structure.
Metal inserts in all the corners.
