Master violin, labelled Paolo Maggini, Brescia, circa 16th - 17th century

This is violin probably a Paolo Maggini (copy), made in Italy. 
Excellent choice of wood, processed skillfully. Deeply flamed maple
for the bottom and fine one-year spruce for the top. The wood is of the very best quality.
We estimate that the violin is 250 to 300 years old. Several well-repaired cracks in the top are secured with extensive underlining.
The bottom has an almost invisible hairline crack, everything has been repaired well and secured with inner lining.

It’s not uncommon for violins of this age to have many repairs. They have, however, not influenced the sound at all. Our violin still has an incredibly convincing and masterful sound.  With beautiful overtones and impressive G string. A fantastic Italian violin for a reasonable price.
