Deze distilleerderij verbouwt zijn eigen gerst, mout op de eigen traditionele moutvloer, heeft kuipers in dienst heeft om de vaten te verzorgen en een kopersmid voor het onderhoud aan de ketels en de langstwerkende malt meester uit de industrie, David Stewart, die al meer dan 50 jaar de whisky's van The Balvenie samenstelt. De 1e rijping vindt plaats in Amerikaans eikenhout en wordt daarna overgegoten in Europese sherry vaten. De traditionele vaten maken de whisky zacht en soepel en voegen karakter toe, terwijl het Europese hout een diepe, fruitige volle smaak geeft aan de whisky.
