The upheavals of the early 1900s, and in particular the First World War, which destroys more than half of the Louis Roederer estate, push Léon Olry Roederer to rebuild his vineyard. He decides to buy grapes to ensure the continuity of the Maison in this period of crisis and, on the same occasion, creates a multimillesimato wine that expresses a constant taste, whatever the year of harvest: the current Premier Brut.

Assembling about 40% of Pinot Noir, 40% of Chardonnay and 20% of Pinot Meunier, Brut Premier combines the wines vinified in oak barrels of the three vines of Champagne, coming from different crus selected by Louis Roederer. It is aged for 3 years in the cellar and has to rest for at least 6 months after the release.

A point of balance between youth and maturity, between seduction and character, between freshness and vinosity, Brut Premier is a large and structured assembly wine, elegant and energetic, incredibly vibrant. Its structured plot, its richness and persistence are decidedly vinous. Complete, complex, modern and powerful at the same time, it still remains a great classic.
