Old antique distances counter (German taximeters) Kienzle, original condition - nothing is tinkering - as far as I can tell it works - a beautiful accessory for old Oltimer taxi, ARGO type 12, Kienzle apparatus company Villingen 
The Villinger was regarded as the market leader "Kienzle taximeters and equipment AG", whose metered under the name "Argo" were used. The first meter manufactured by Kienzle ARGO T 3 (1920-1925), the ARGO T 4 (1926-1935) in square form and the space-saving-to-grow ARGO T 12 (1956-1967).
The chunky taximeter initially only fitted a distance meter and a clock, it has now become a modern on-board computer with management functions.
The last mechanical fare displays were banished from the taxis in the mid-1980s, when new staggering tariffs were introduced in many German cities. The step from mechanics to electronics was ultimately inevitable.
