Photo Sniper - the trade name of the photo shoots produced by the Krasnogorsky Mechanical Plant (KMZ).
"The photosniper" should be kept the same as the usual gun, - hence the name. The first "photo shooters" were produced for military use and were officially called "hand-held apparatus for photo-reconnaissance"
Photo-shooters "Photo Shooter" were intended for photo hunting for wild animals, as well as for other purposes.

 History 
The first "Photospatial" pilot series was released in 1937 by the State Optical Institute on the basis of a modified rangefinder camera "FED". Since 1944, a similar model called "FS-2" began to be produced for the armed forces at the KMZ. "FS-2" had a wooden box of the rifle type and an objective "Tair-2" 4,5 / 300 mm.
In the model "Photospray FS-3" (1965-1982) and subsequent, intended already for the consumer market, special modifications of small format SLRs "Zenith" were applied, and the camera can be removed from the box and used separately with any compatible lenses and other accessories.
