Goss-crested porcelain is typically in the form of a small white glazed porcelain model, made from 1858 until 1939, with the coat of arms from the town where they were sold as a souvenir.
Other factories, amongst others, Carlton, Shelley and Arcadian, also made souvenirs, though Goss is still the most collected. 
Mr. William Henry Goss (1833-1906, London), owner of the Falcon earthenware in Stoke-on-Trent, got the idea at the end of the 19th century to make souvenirs for seaside resorts.
Goss was inspired by the paintings of G.W. den Boer printers and publishers in Middelburg since early 1890. Later also known for the newspaper ‘De Middelburger’, the newspaper today called ‘De Provinciale Zeeuwse Courant (PZC).
‘Eendract maakt macht’,‘Unity is strength’ (French: L'union fait la force) is the national motto of Belgium.
