For auction is this high-quality good lamp base of a lady.
The whole sculpture breathes the figures of Gustav Gurschner, who was a sculptor from Vienna and worked most of the time in Paris. Especially the expression of the face and the posture of the body remind very much of his bronze works. The sculpture, however, is not signed and at that time (around 1900) Gurschner was already often imitated.
We see a lady who seems to be growing from the ground or slowly turning into a tree. It is a lamp base of which the shade is missing.

Made entirely of bronze with good details of fingers and face.
Good condition. light wear as expected on the bronze, but a nice patina on the whole.

35 cm. high.
No signature.
Electricity renewed.
