A parody of the classic German children's book by Heinrich Hoffman, each verse of this work makes fun of contemporary late nineteenth century political events in England, including the Boer War. The class system, imperialism and Protestantism are also targets for humour. Illustrated by F. Carruthers Gould, a British cartoonist known for his contributions to Punch.
Boards are bumped and scuffed, and have also suffered some staining. Netting exposed. Foxing to endpapers. Illustrations remain bright.

Oeuvre bien reçue avec sa pochette d'origine qui est très appréciable. Cependant, attention à l'emballage, pas assez sécurisée, pour une réception sans dégât.
