Located in the heart of the ancient whiskey capital, Glen Scotia is now the third Campbeltown distillery to hold a whiskey production license. This town located in the south of the Kintyre peninsula was the former scene of what could be called "the barley rush" and around 1880 was home to around thirty distilleries including Glen Scotia founded in 1832. At the end of the 20 century, Glen Scotia was closed on numerous occasions (from 1984 to 1989 and from 1994 to 2000) leaving, like the distillery Springbank, traces within its stocks. These Glen Scotias rested in American oak barrels for 10, 12 and 18 years before being bottled.
