You are bidding on an insanely well preserved 1971 UK-edition of Andy Warhol’s absolutely legendary ‘Banana’-album of the Velvet Underground & Nico, in perfect near mint vinyl condition (!):

- A 1971 rare UK Press (53 years young) of the American legendary rockband The Velvet Underground & Nico (with Lou Reed & John Cale!), released on MGM Records 2315056 with early matrix runouts A//1 – B//1, typical blue/gold MGM labelled vinyl, produced by the American world famous artist, filmdirector & producer and ‘silver prince of popart’ Andy Warhol.

This comes with the famous inner picture gatefold sleeve with band photos, tracks & reviews, with non pealable banana and original inner sleeve. The pictures are an essential part of the LP-description, so watch them carefully. Cover: Excellent ! - Vinyl: Near Mint ! Waw! Don’t miss out!

The Velvet Underground & Nico initially sold poorly, but was later regarded as one of the most influential albums in rock music, including punk, garage, krautrock, shoegaze, goth and indie music. Many radio-stations refused to play the record because of the hard songs on drugs and masochism. In those days ‘underground’ rock radio barely started.

This is one of the rare affordable UK-pressings of a Velvet Underground banana-album every true classic rock vinyl-lover wants.
