Portrait of a young lady was executed by Austrian painter Karl Jobst (1835 Mauerkirchen - 1907 Vienna).

Studied together with his younger brother Franz by Ferdinand Scheck in Linz and from 1857 to 1861 at the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna by Carl Wurzingef and Karl Mayer. He undertook study travels to South Germany, France and Italy. Together with his brother, he was involved in the restoration of the Gothic Pesenbach winged altar under the supervision of Adalbert Stifter and made drawings of all the important Gothic carvings in Upper Austria, which were published in 1861 under the title Collection of Medieval Artworks from Austria. With his brother, he founded the decoration company "F. & C. Jobst" in Vienna, which specialized in new furnishings and restorations, especially of church buildings. Karl devoted himself particularly to painting and frescoes. Like his brother, he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit with the Crown.

Inscription: original artist's estate stamp on the backside.

Technique: watercolour and gouache on paper. In antique frame.

Measurements: unframed w 7 1/2" x h 8 5/8" (19 x 22 cm), framed w 11 3/4 " x h 14 1/3" ( 30 x 36,5 cm).

Condition: in good condition.

O quadro chegou com o vidro partido e por causa disso com riscos no desenho. Denota falta de cuidado a embalar o artigo, provocando estragos.

Sinto muito, mas não é minha culpa, a foto estava muito bem embalada. O vidro quebrou devido ao manuseio descuidado da embalagem pelos correios portugueses. I'm sorry, but it's not my fault, the painting was packed well enough. The glass breakage was due to the careless handling of the package by the Portuguese post office.

Très mauvaise expérience. Cadre complètement abîmé sur les côtés non indiqué lors de la vente. Il ne veut absolument rien faire et passe par mail. JE NE RECOMMANDE VRAIMENT PAS CE VENDEUR DÉSAGREABLE.

Be careful, professional extortionist! Having bought a beautiful oriental portrait from the 19th century in an original gold frame for €500, he found fault with minor delamination on the side of the frame, received a discount from Satavika and also tried to get some of the money back from me, instead of canceling the deal, as I suggested to him.

Zeer goed verpakt, ik schrok wel even omdat ik tape over het schilderij zag, maar dat bleek op glas te zitten, hetgeen niet in te tekst stond. Verder alles perfect. Heel blij mee.

Glass protects the painting from dirt. If you decide to remove the glass, Inhope , it won't be a difficult job for you. Best regards

Very lovely painting, shipped quickly and well packed. The only thing is that the clips to attach the painting to the frame are broken! Now I have to figure out how to fix this.

Das Gemälde entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Der Händler war schnell zu erreichen, antwortet rasch, ist freundlich; die Abholung war unkompliziert. Empfehlenswert!

Fiquei satisfeito mas a tela veio completamente solta da moldura o que não se justifica para o valor do quadro.

Desculpe. Antes do transporte, a lona estava boa e fizemos uma embalagem boa e segura. Provavelmente aconteceu porque o processo de transporte foi muito difícil.

Ein prächtiges, ausdruckstarkes Gemälde, ganz wie in Text und Bild beschrieben! Es ist in bestem Zustand angekommen. Gefällt mir sehr. Danke!
