Superb and rare CHATEAU DE FARGUES 2003 de Lur Saluces x 2
Grand Cru Classé Sauternes | Barsac en 1855
2 btl 75 cl - 13 ° - note Parker 88/100
Encépagement : Sémillon à 80%, Sauvignon à 20%
label intact, capsule and very good level

Château de Fargues, located in the Sauternes wine region, is a prestigious estate belonging to the Lur Saluces family, also the owner of the famous Château d'Yquem. The 2003 vintage is particularly remarkable due to the exceptional climatic conditions which favored the concentration of aromas.

This wine is made mainly from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, emblematic grape varieties of the appellation. The harvest is manual, with a rigorous selection of botrytized grapes, which guarantees optimal quality. Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot, plays a key role in the development of aromas and richness of the wine.

To the eye, the Sauternes Château de Fargues 2003 presents a beautiful golden, almost amber color, testifying to its evolution. On the nose, it unfolds a complex bouquet of candied fruits, dried apricots, honey and spices, with delicate floral notes. On the palate, the wine is opulent, balanced by an acidity which gives it a beautiful freshness.

The finish is long and persistent, revealing nuances of caramel and nuts. This Sauternes goes perfectly with sweet and savory dishes, blue-veined cheeses or even fruity desserts. The 2003 vintage, although hot, produced a wine of great finesse, promising interesting aging potential for years to come.
