‘A Day at the Races’ was Queen’s first completely self-produced album. The album reached the top of the charts in the UK, Netherlands, US and Japan. A listener poll on BBC Radio 2 saw ‘A Day at the Races’ voted the 67th greatest album of all time. The Chicago Tribune considered this album – together with ‘A Night at the Opera’ – as part of the band’s artistic peak.
