Pierre Jean Chaffrey (1926 - 1999) - "Riverscape"

Pierre-Jean Chaffrey was born on 14 March 1926 in Birmandreïs, then a department of Algiers.
After completing classical secondary school, he studied at the Beaux-Arts in Algiers before spending two years in the United States.
He returned to France in 1947, settling in Nice and then in Allauch, near Marseille. Here he had his first solo exhibition.
In addition to his painting, Pierre-Jean Chaffrey produced tapestries exclusively woven by master weaver Raymond Picaud in Aubusson.
He died in 1999
Over the years, Pierre-Jean Chaffrey's paintings gradually lost its surrealist influences
