Rare parian ware figurine produced by Minton after a design by John Alexander Patterson Macbride (1819-1890), Prince Albert, the Prince Consort and husband of Queen Victoria. Prince Albert was born in 1819 end died of typhoid fever in 1861. This figurine is dated 1862 and signed and dated by MacBride on the base. He is depicted in civilan dress. Although it is an excuisite figurine and MacBride is an important artist, this piece does not appear in the book: "The Parian Phenomenon, a survey of Victorian Parian Porcelain Statuary & busts.
Dims: height 34 cm, width 11,5 cm, depth 9 cm.
Dated 1862.
Condition is excellent: no chips, cracks or restoration. There is however a minute and discrete hairline in the base, possibly even a production flaw (see last picture).

Beautiful glasses, well packed for shipping. Only minor issues: one glass is smaller and one has a scratch (or inner crack) – which wasn’t visible in photos or mentioned in the description.
