Bimber distillery was founded by whisky lovers, with a mission to produce high quality single malt whisky with character, using tradition methods that are rarely seen today.

1. Apogee :
From the Bimber distillery - this is their First Blended Malt and 12 years old - 25000 bottles available world wide

Nose: Sweet leather, nutmeg, coconut, apple, pear peal notes and sherry sweetness

Taste: Strange but… white pepper, vanilla, caramel with a slightly fat texture

Finish: Medium - Long with wood and pepper tones and some cinnamon. Sweetness kept longest.

Another nice product from the Bimber distillery.

I drank it without adding some water! -> caused by a nice 46.3 % alcohol

2. Bimber- batch 3 exclusively matured in ex-Bourbon oak casks with 41.6% alcohol - 5000 bottles
Age… I could not find it.
Totally different than the Apogee but that is normal AND on Cask Strength … so you have to add some water to open the bouquet, soften the alcohol in your mouth and give the right flavour, taste and impression to enjoy this dram.

Inderdaad en te lang ondergewaardeerd ten opzichte van andere Speyside distilleries. Heb ooit voor Diageo gewerkt en na de fusie vanuit United Distillers meegegaan met de fusie in Nederland. Pas daar Knockando mogen ontdekken mede dankzij bezoekjes in Schotland met de company. Het was, gezien de portfolio van Diageo NOOIT belangrijk dat het in NL moest groeien. Markten als Frankrijk en Spanje waren belangrijker met veel meer Whisky consumenten dan NL.. grote retailers met daardoor scherpere prijzen in die landen. Mocht je er ooit zijn en je treft er ‘ oude stock aan’ in minder bekende streken, kan de prijs denk ik erg aangenaam zijn. Njonja it!

Bieren zijn ok, maar eerlijkheids halve mogen ze wel iets beter en veiliger verpakt worden.

Bedankt voor de feedback, maar mijn bubbeltjes plastic was op en heb het naar beste weten ingepakt en verzonden. In ieder geval is het goed aangekomen en werken de FRAGIL stikkers toch ook.
