200 pages of hand made paper form this exquisite classic tale now revised by the great author and historian Edward Heron-Allen
Edward Heron-Allen FRS[1] (born Edward Heron Allen) (17 December 1861 – 28 March 1943) was an English polymath, writer, scientist and Persian scholar who translated the works of Omar Khayyam.
He was known for his hate of inscribing or dedicating books, ephemera or documents so to obtain it and in such a scarce classic book is rare.
Very nice crisp and clearly signed on title frontispiece with full signature in black ink and with dedication above in his and the same own hand of what I can make out as:
“To G Eleanor Robson, from the author, 14 July 1916”
This revised first edition of 1908 by Duckworth & Co
Is based on the second edition of Edward Fitzgeralds Rubaiyyat of Umar Khayyam (London; 1868:B: Quaritch)
This edition is in very good condition indeed and clean and bright pages throughout, a must for any serious collector
