Xarel·lo and Macabeu, Mediterranean varieties used to make Homenaje Josep Mata Capellades 2004, come from old vineyards planted in the northeastern area of ​​Alt Penedès, around the Bitlles River. These are deep soils, made of sedimentary material, very limestone in nature and clay-loam in texture, which allow a greater water retention capacity and provide a clear identity to the resulting wines.
