Lady justice

Made of Bronze on Marble Base (Lost Wax Casting Method)

Giant size 80 cm high

Stunning bronze statue of Lady Justice, the Roman Goddess of Justice (equivalent to Greek goddess Themis). Justice is shown with a blindfold, holding the scales and standing on the snake with sword in hand. Hence we have the phrase justice is blind. She is of course an allegorical personification of the moral force in the judicial system. It's a common statue to see on law courts, This is a great version, casting is great with a wonderful patina.

Due to the size its only possible to ship with DHL or UPS - Please be aware the parcel is very heavy and 120 x 40 x 40cm.

The lost wax casting method is a labor intensive process which is considered to be the best for capturing the finest details of an artist's original sculpture. Typically, a wax replica of the original is made and then dipped in liquid ceramic in order to create a ceramic mould. Once cured, the ceramic shell is kiln fired and as the shell bakes, the wax inside melts and is lost from the shell (thus the term lost wax). After the ceramic shell is removed from the heat, molten bronze is poured into it to create the final casting.

Sehr kulanter Verkäufer, die erste Lieferung war von UPS trotz sehr guter Verpackung zerstört worden. Ich habe problemlos ein neues Plakat bekommen. Vielen Dank für diesen vorbildlichen Service.
