This elegant pair of footed bowls, dating from the 20th century, showcases exquisite Japanese lacquerware craftsmanship. The bowls feature a striking contrast between their interiors and exteriors. The inside of each bowl is finished in a rich vermillion lacquer, providing a vibrant and warm surface. The exterior is adorned with the sophisticated nashiji technique, which involves sprinkling gold or silver flakes onto the lacquer to create a subtle, shimmering effect resembling pear skin. This method adds depth and a luxurious texture to the bowls.

The bowls are masterfully crafted with a graceful silhouette, each supported by a sturdy pedestal base. These versatile pieces would make a stunning addition to any collection of Japanese art or serve as beautiful decorative objects in a contemporary setting.

Please note that due to their age and use, there are some signs of wear. Minor scuffs, slight soiling, and some lacquer peeling on the bottom are present. Despite these minor imperfections, these bowls remain beautiful examples of traditional Japanese lacquerware from the Showa period. Please review the photos to assess the detailed condition.
