Michael Joseph - Woman in Wool duo - black and white print from end of shoot & colour laminate of sheep

This is a print of the nude swedish model in the sheep after the main shot accompanied by a mount that has been signed by Michael Joseph the photographer - and an authentic colour test print of several of the 600 sheep that appeared in the final advertisement which has been laminated.

Anecdote from "The Complete Photography Course" (published back in the 1990s by Michael Joseph and Dave Saunders) :

The nude in the sheep is probably my all-time 'favourite'.  It was for the International Wool Secretariat, and  was one of the first advertising shots Paul Arden and I did together. The  best exposure was in black and white  with the black-faced sheep staring  straight at the swedish model for one instant of a  second, when the girl's pose was just right and the sunlight was on her.  A  trillion to one chance as there was only one neg where the sunlight hit the girl perfectly.

In the next neg the black sheep had disappeared into  the crowd. That session took about  two hours, two flocks of sheep and involved three shepherds holding the  sheep in with mobile fencing, and a stylist with a walkie-talkie, who  swooped in every time the girl's hair looked blown. I was in a fur coat and fur hat, looking a bit like a mad Rod  Stewart. The model's courage was impressive given the cold and general strangeness of the shoot, and  the 600 sheep just filled the frame.  We used a 1000mm lens on a Pentax and shot from across the valley; it actually rained between us.
