[Expert Note: this bottle comes from a fascinating time in the history of Chartreuse. Having fled the French government in 1903 to set up production in Tarragona (Spain), after World War One political changes made a return to France feasible once again. Though it would take another decade for production to resume in France, these bottlings represent an intermediary phase. Liqueur was shipped from Tarragona to Marseille (France) where it was bottled at a newly set up plant, from 1921-1929. This was therefore distilled at Tarragona, but bottled in France. NH]
