Ady Endre válogatott versei / Selected poems by Endre Ady
Illustrated by Álmos Jaschik
Pallas, Budapest, 1921
A rare illustrated edition of Endre Ady's poetry; the first collection after the poet's death.
Eight full-page Art Nouveau - Symbolist illustrations by Álmos Jaschik, showing close relationship with the decorative style of Edmund Dulac. Each illustration is based on a poem by Ady and depicts its main symbolist imagery.
Álmos Jaschik (1885-1950) was a prominent graphic designer and visual educator of interwar Hungary. Jaschik designed several banknotes (Pengő), and created several stage sets and costume design for theatres. Also painted a number of illustrations for books. A pioneer of experimental cinema, he created the first animated film in Hungary in 1942–1944.
Condition: Good. Previous owner's name inscribed on front endpaper. Otherwise the book is in good condition; no stains, no tears, no creases, no inscriptions. Pages darkened due to age. Illustrations in very good condition, protected by tissue paper (all present).

A lot of pages missing in the book pages 37,38,81,82,93 and 94. This was not mentioned in the description of the seller ☹️
Προβολή μετάφρασηςI'm terribly sorry for the inconvenience. I didn't notice the missing pages - but it's still unacceptable. Naturally, I can send you a good copy as soon as I can, hopefully in a few days. I hope you will remove the negative review too.
