Two Colorful Shunga Prints Demonstrating the Benefits of Smoking a Pipe (!?) - Άγνωστος καλλιτέχνης - Ιαπωνία - Meiji period (1868-1912)
These two very colorful prints (no editing has been done to the pictures), which come as a connected pair, show the moments of meeting and the amorous results thereafter. In both prints, the encounters take place so innocently. But in both cases, the man is smoking a pipe. It must have an alluring effect on Japanese ladies. That's it, I have decided to start smoking a pipe next time I go to Japan!
In the first print, you can see the woman hiding her face behind her fan while the man's face shows a wild rage lust. I am happy that this woman is a real lady with impeccable manners.
The second print also shows the lady keeping her composure by hiding her face behind her sleeve. I am not sure what the man is up to. Is her stimulating her with his fingers? Or is he checking her virginity? Whichever, I hope he gave her a wonderful time afterwards.
