The artist: Takahashi Sohei 高橋草坪(1804-1835), a Bakumatsu literati painter, was the cousin and gatekeeper of the famous painter Tanomura Chikuden, who had a talent for painting from an early age, but he only lived to be 32 years old when he died. He has been committed to learning Chinese literati painting in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and his techniques are very exquisite and popular with the world.
