Many of his works have been recognized by Wazamono(業物) for their excellent cutting quality. He was a student of Michimoto Kanetane(道本兼植), who was a descendant of Echizen Kanenori(越前兼法). A further addition, Echizen Kanenori is a swordsmith who moved from Seki in Mino to Echizen in the early Edo period, and is famous for being the founder of Echizen shinto(越前新刀). From the past to the present, Hirotaka has consistently been known for his sharpness, and this Katana is a typical example of Hirotaka's work.
