This exquisite antique Florentine icon is a mechanic reproduction on a paper surface of the icon Bible verse "sinite parvulos", when Jesus said to his disciples “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these".
The icon dates back to the first half of the 20th century and is beautifully framed with an oval gilded frame.
The icon measures Cm 47 x 75.
These typical Florentine souvenirs were produced and sold by famous editors such as the Pineider brand in Firenze (Florence). The story of Pineider began in 1774 when the first stationery shop was opened in downtown Florence on Piazza della Signoria. Pineider soon became known all over Europe. It attracted customers of the caliber of Napoleon, Lord Byron, and Stendhal. The production range expanded over time to include various objects in the traditional forms of Florentine craftsmanship.
The item is in good overall condition, with normal signs of time due to age and wear.
It will be carefully packaged and shipped with registered track and trace.
