Krzysztof Brzuzan (1956) - Fallen Angel
Born in 1956 in Bolesławiec Śląski. He graduated in art from the Faculty of Sculpture of the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts. Diploma with honors in the studio of prof. Marian Konieczny in 1980. During his studies, he received two scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and Art for his academic achievements. He takes an active part in exhibitions of the Rzeszów community and nationwide exhibitions. He has several solo exhibitions. He also practices monumental and sacred sculpture. Multiple winner of the cyclical exhibition "Painting, Graphics, Drawing, Sculpture of the Year".
His works can be found in private and museum collections around the world. Well known to the inhabitants of Rzeszów for his bronze sculptures exposed in urban space. These include the monument of Adam Mickiewicz, Jan Pakosławic, or the urchin aiming at the street lamp next to the Elektromontaż office building. Krzysztof Brzuzan once jokingly called this last sculpture the smallest monument of revolutionary deed. In art, he refers to many cultural tropes, great classics and folk artists.
"I therefore see beauty in transient things that are often degraded. I deal with art recycling, cultural recycling. This slogan accompanies this collection. I restore the past world, its objects and matter. I use items that are already worn out, neglected, degraded by time. "I still see their beauty and new values."
