The golden toilet roll holder or toilet paper holder 'Maurizio' by design duo Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel (Studio Job) for the Italian design brand Seletti is part of a small series.
It’s an ode to Maurizio Cattelan’s work of a fully golden toilet called ‘America’.

New in original Box, Including screws.
The toilet roll holder has a standard size so that all toilet rolls fit in it.
It is made of resin with gold finish.

The Holder makes a big impression, it is beautiful in the photo, but when we actually got it in hand we were absolutely impressed.

The holder is a bit larger than usual and the gold is very shiny.

About Studio Job

Dutch Artists and design duo Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel founded Studio Job in 2000.
They worked for several big names such as Seletti, Swarovski, Land rover, Tichelaar, Rizzoli, Bulgari, Moooi, Gufram, Venini, Chanel and many others.

In their designs they work a lot with symbolism and iconography and they say they are mainly interested in the relationship between "man and object" and the story that man assigns to those objects.

In addition, they have actively blurred the boundary between art and design since the beginning of their existence: in addition to production for the masses (design), they also made unique items (art) that were also exhibited and sold as such.

Meanwhile, partly because of them, that landscape has changed considerably and it has become more obvious that disciplines are ignored. However, the controversy in the early days was great, with criticism from both sides: the unique pieces were not only bad art but also bad design because it was not accessible to everyone (because it was too expensive).

Studio Job is considered as one of the most influential duo of Dutch Design next to Maarten Van Severen, Sabine Marcelis, Hella Jongerius, Maarten Baas, Irma Boom, Richard Hutten, Makkink & Bey, Bertjan Pot, Scholten & Baijings and Marcel Wanders.
