A nice silver pumpkin-shaped box from Myanmar (former Burma ) it is a beautiful example of traditional Burmese silverware.
Handcrafted and hammered with small designs by a silversmith using traditional techniques .
Melon-shaped boxes are very important in Burmese culture.

These boxes were historically used for storing a variety of items, including betel nuts, spices, jewellery, or other valuables.
Small spots visible inside the silver melon box shows that the box was most likely used for the storage of spices or then betel nuts. However it does not interfere with the intricate design of the box with the little leave on top.

Volgens mij is het geen echte batik, maar namaak. De patronen zijn vreemd afgebroken aan de randen. Bij echte batik is dat anders. De zoom is slecht afgewerkt, zoals bij namaak batik.

Waarom denkt u dat ? Indien U niet tevreden bent met de aankoop kunt U deze aan mij terugsturen en retourneer ik u graag het bedrag van de gedane koop . Wat is een namaak batik volgens Uw mening? Heb het opgezocht en vond het volgende: De belangrijkste tekenen zijn visueel. Geen enkele echte batik is perfect. Punten zijn niet goed uitgelijnd, lijnen hebben een ongelijkmatige dikte en dekking, kleuren bloeden op sommige plekken en er zitten overal wasvlekken op het doek. Het beste advies dat iedereen nuttig vindt, is om naar de keerzijde te kijken. Omdat de meeste batik met de hand geverfd zijn, moeten kleurstofmoleculen zich aan beide zijden van het doek aan de vezels binden; de twee zijden moeten dezelfde kleurdekking hebben. Bij digitaal bedrukt doek drukt de machine slechts op één zijde van het doek, waardoor de “achterzijde” ondoorzichtig blijft.
