Very rare 1 Production of this wonderful Katana Samurai from the Quentin Tarantino Movie "KILL BILL" belonging to the Character "BUDD" played by the actor (Michael Madsen). The Katana is New close is in original transparent envelope and in its original box. The peculiarity of this Katana in particular is that it is a very first production with the dedication engraved on the blade just like the one in the film and not like the current ones in production which have surface printed engraving. But above all the wood used for the scabbard (SAYA) of the first models is magnolia!!! But the story of this Katana in the film? This is the Katana that Bill gave to his brother Budd, a professional assassin, a member of the D.V.A.S. of his brother Bill. Like the rest of the team, he attacks and nearly kills his colleague, Beatrix Kiddo (Bride). Black lacquered magnolia wood scabbard with gilt engravings. The blade is entirely in stainless steel engraved with the dedication that Bill made for his brother "TO MY BROTHER BUDD, THE ONLY MAN I EVER LOVED" That Wonderful handmade exhibition Katana Samurai , with dedication on the blade , with scabbard (Saya) in lacquered wood of Magnolia, with a trefoil carved on top (heraldic leaf of three lobes), and a Japanese symbol in the center carved in the wood. The same symbol is present on the wooden pedestal included with the Katana. This amazing Katana, is shown as a luxurious version and treated in every detail. There are details everywhere! NB (The blade is not sharp, exhibition edition, the pedestal of three katanas is not included is my personal, as the base in cherry wood, are used for the photos. But it includes the basis of the Katana with the same symbol that is present on the sheath of the katana) The Blade: it is made of 440C carbon stainless steel and has on one side the waves that run through the blade. On the blade there is also a dedication engraved in the steel , engraved just above The Habaki (which is the anchor of the TSUBA or the handle, which allows the katana to fit in with the "SAYA" scabbard), cared for down to the smallest details and which is very reminiscent of the typical drawings Japanese. The Sheath (SAYA): it's probably the part that makes this Katana incredibly fascinating. It is made of lacquered magnolia wood, but its peculiarities are the details that adorn this sheath. Its base has a metal cover and has an open flower in relief on both sides. A little 'above, engraved in the wood there is a "clover" (heraldic leaf of three lobes) hand painted in gold. Above this engraving there is a support always painted internally in gold, where there are three small flowers and a gold-colored cotton bow is attached. Beyond this support we find this Japanese symbol, but this time it is engraved in the wood and always painted in gold. At the end of the handle there is another metal protection where there are other decorations, many different types of flowers. The Guard (TSUBA): it is metal, titanium colored, with 4 holes of different shapes on both sides. The Handle (TSUKA): is covered in black rope, and as seen from the photos on both sides (on one side above, and on the other side below) there is a metal dragon. These ornaments that have been placed in the handle as by fortune ornaments, have been called by the "MENUKI" Samurai. At the end of the handle there is another metal protection where a stylized dragon is represented. While in the initial part of the handle exactly under the TSUBA (guard) is present the same flower that is also present above the sheath. N.B Writing on the blade is now even more detailed and cleaner in this New DELUXE version. You can see it well in photo no. 12. I left the old photos because the katana is the same. The pedestal: it is included with the katana, it is in black wood, and at its base in the center there is the same Japanese symbol, which is also present on the scabbard (SAYA) always in color, yellow - gold. N.B In some cases the pedestal can change, it can be with Japanese writings (Kanji) or with the symbol. ATTENTION : to the photos there is a cherry wood base (not included only used for photos) and also another black pedestal with support for three katanas, whose pedestal is not included, but only the pedestal of the katana with the Japanese symbol same as the one on the scabbard. HERE FEEATURES: KATANA LENGTH WITH SHEATH: 103.5 CM KATANA LENGTH: 97 CM BLADE LENGTH: 68 CM SHEATH LENGTH (SAYA): 74.5 CM GUARD LENGTH (TSUBA): 9 CM LENGTH HANDLE (TSUKA): 28.5 CM WEIGHT: 2,5 KG Wonderful collection and exhibition piece. Although this word generically refers to a sword, the term Katana refers to a specific single blade curved sword used by the samurai, the warriors who obeyed the daimyo (feudal), used mainly to strike with fenders, seized on one or two hands. The weapon was usually carried by warrior class members along with the wakizashi (or short sword). The combination of the two swords was called Daisho (from Japanese by = large and sho = small), and represented the power or class social and honor of the samurai. In ancient times, the daisho was made up of tachos and for so long, they did not miss the samurai who preferred to carry so much together with the katana.
