Hieronymus Sweerts (? 1629 – 1696 ) was a seventeenth-century poet and bookseller in Amsterdam. He also published under the pseudonym Jeroen Jeroense or Hippolytus de Vrye. His name is also spelled Zweerts. He is cited often in Simon Schama's The Embarrassment of Riches: An Interpretation of Dutch Culture in the Golden Age (1988); see also John Landwehr, Emblem and Fable Books Printed in the Low Countries (1988), page 265.
