Islands in the Currents is a collection of photographs by Japanese photographer and multi-artist Shinpei Asai. He was active not only in photography, but also in film, music, haiku and as a TV commentator, but The Beatles and the sea are synonymous with Shinpei Asai, who made his major debut in 1966 with a documentary on the Beatles' visit to Japan, and in 1977 released an LP album composed entirely of the sound of waves.
