In this technique, young leaves are pressed onto unglazed pottery and the veins of the leaves are used to represent mountains.

The Fujii family have been involved in ceramics since the Edo period and the eldest son is also a potter with a different style to his father.
About Arita-yaki
Arita-yaki is the most representative porcelain of Japan, produced in the city of Arita and the surrounding area.
It is characterised by its translucent white porcelain surface and the beautiful colours produced with overglaze paints. It is extremely durable and is used in a wide range of products, from works of art to everyday items.
Known as 'white gold' for its superior quality and beauty, it was recognised as a traditional craft by the Japanese government in 1977.
