DESCRIPTION
On March 7, 1992, the commitment and work of so many, together with the high quality of the brandy, had its merit recognized with the publication of Decree-Law no. 34/92 that establishes the Demarcated Region of Quality Wine Brandy with Denomination of Origin Subsidiary “Lourinhã” (1) the one that constitutes the first and only demarcated region in the country solely for the production of spirits. It is one of three regions in Europe, on an equal footing with the famous French spirits, Armagnac and Cognac.
From the grape to the final bottled product, Aguardente DOC Lourinhã, is carried out in the demarcated Lourinhã region, in which the entire process takes place: from the grape varieties, the vineyard/soil, winemaking, distillation, aging, filtering, filling and labeling.
The grape varieties used are mostly Portuguese. The white varieties are: Alicante-Branco, Boal Espinho, Marquinhas, Malvasia Rei (Seminário), Tália, Fernão Pires, Rabo de Ovelha, Seara Nova and Vital. The red varieties: Cabinda, Castelão and Tinta Miúda.

VINIFICATION
Wine brandy produced in the Demarcated Region of Lourinhã, the only Demarcated Region in Portugal and one of three in Europe, exclusively made from wine brandy. Prepared under a rigorous method, distilled from carefully selected wines that rest for 12 years in French oak and Portuguese oak barrels.

TASTING NOTES
Wine with a brownish topaz color and greenish hints, intense and fruity aroma, with notes of vanilla, wood, coffee and dried fruits. In the mouth it is soft, sweet, with light smoke and persistent.

SERVING
Ready to be enjoyed after a good meal, before and after coffee or with a good cigar. Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 18ºC and 20ºC. Consume in moderation.
