A detailed 6-panel hina’byôbu 雛屏風 (doll festival folding screen) showcasing a serene autumn and winter landscape.
The tranquil scene features a meandering river flowing gently with a few low waterfalls, surrounded by maple trees adorned with vibrant autumn leaves. Along the left side, behind a low gate, pine trees are depicted covered in snow. The composition is elegantly enveloped by speckled gold leaf clouds, adding depth and luminosity to the landscape.
Signed and sealed in the lower right corner ‘Ariaki’ 在明.
Rendered in colour and ink on paper. Surrounded by two brocade silk borders, a thin green one, and a broad purple one. Protected by a black lacquered wooden frame with protective hardware.
Period: Japan – Meiji period (1868-1912).

Total width 156.8 cm (2 x 26.8 and 4 x 25.8 cm); Height: 63.2 cm.
Considering its age in a very good condition with minimal signs of wear conform age and some small restoration silk border. Please have a look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
Due to its small size and because the screen is light in weight, the byôbu is very suitable to be mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.
