Oscar de la Renta Limited edition Couture barbie. - Barbie-Puppe - 1990-2000

Oscar de la Renta limited edition barbie. Barbie went high couture in 1998, arriving on the scene wearing a gorgeous gown that Oscar de la Renta designed especially for her. This limited edition Barbie’s gown consists of a bodice made of golden brocade, overlaid with lace and then embellished with beads and sequins. In very good condition. Comes with original box. The Oscar de la Renta dress’s long lace sleeves have faux fur cuffs, and a brown lace shawl drapes around Barbie’s arms. The outfit’s full golden brocade skirt and tulle underskirt give it volume. A brown sash fastens with a topaz-colored stone helping define Barbie’s small waistline. You can add to that her elegant up-do, gold-trimmed faux topaz tiara, dangling earrings and evening makeup, and this beauty can look ready to attend a wedding reception, walk the runway or even be a bride herself. If you love fashion and Barbie, or you’re a collector, you can fall in love with Oscar de la Renta Barbie’s unique style. Oscar de la Renta was the first fashion designer to collaborate with Barbie. His first looks came in the mid-1980s, with outfits you could purchase separately. His designs include dresses Barbie could wear on the red carpet, as well as a pantsuit with a shiny gold camisole and jacket. The 1998 classic gown is his second design for the popular Mattel doll. This one was sold with the doll. The 1998 Oscar de le Renta Barbie was followed by the “Something Blue” Barbie wearing a bridal gown, which he introduced in 2016. His designs are now part of a collection of Barbies outfitted by a number of famous fashion designers and brands, including Burberry, Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang and Versace. Barbie dolls remain hugely popular since Mattel introduced the first one in 1959.
