Size - 24cm x 18cm

Good condition

Roger Kasparian is one of the most singular photographers. Modest and reserved, he has nevertheless rubbed shoulders with the greatest artists: between a Beatles shoot, a tête-à-tête with Gainsbourg or a series of portraits of Johnny, Brel, Claude François and Aznavour, he immortalized all the idols of the Sixties and Seventies. For this summer, the seaside town of Théoule-sur-Mer pays tribute to its audacity and know-how through a beautiful retrospective.

Gainsbourg was a true dandy. He was immaculate on him and wore gloves for outdoor photos. He knew how to pose and had a flair for showmanship. I had very little influence on his expressions during the shoot. We also worked indoors. His apartment was black and dark, just like the Left Bank nerd he was then. There was a lot of chatter today, Gainsbourg knew he was at the bottom of the wave in terms of yéyé and Rock'n'roll trends.

He said, "They want soup and I'm going to make it for them and then I'll have my Rolls!" After that, he effectively changed his style by abandoning Gainsbourg for Gainsbarre. It took him 10 years to get there, but he got his Rolls!
