This piece is a perfect reflection of my artistic journey, where I, Kōdo88, blend classical Japanese techniques with modern digital methods, developed in collaboration with my in-house design team. Drawing inspiration from iconic elements such as Batman and the traditional Japanese game of Menko, my work fuses traditional and contemporary influences, including anime, manga, ukiyo-e, and pop culture.

With over 25 years of experience, I have mastered various mixed media techniques, including impasto painting, screen printing, woodblock printing, and engraving. My artistic journey includes training under master artists in Sumi-e at Casa Japón in Barcelona, and pivotal work on movie posters and fantasy art projects in Los Angeles during the 90s. My extensive experience in video game design across Barcelona, London, Paris, and Los Angeles, working alongside American and Japanese experts, has broadened my creative approach, enabling me to seamlessly integrate elements of cinema and pop culture into my art.

My work has been showcased in numerous international exhibitions, where it has been celebrated within the retro-pop art scene.
