In contrast to Amida Buddha, who represents the idealized Buddha presiding over the Western Pure Land, Shakyamuni Buddha embodies the human experience of enlightenment achieved through self-discipline and meditation. The golden elements on both the statue and the shrine are painted with a mixture of gold powder and lacquer, lending the piece a radiant and sacred appearance. The Buddha is securely attached to the base but can be removed from the shrine. Notably, the interior of the shrine features six "ESP Wonder Stickers" adhered behind the Buddha. These stickers, believed to hold mystical "universal energy" beyond scientific understanding, are said to enhance positive energy and spiritual well-being. The shrine and statue show natural signs of aging, with scuffs, stains, discoloration, and dust accumulation. Cracks and chips in the lacquer are visible on both the Buddha and the zushi, including a prominent crack on the left door. The halo behind the Buddha wobbles slightly.
