2021 Domaine Thénard - Corton-Clos du Roi Grand Cru - 2 Flaschen (0,75 l)

The Thénard family has owned vineyards in Givry since 1760. Previously, the Domaine sold almost all its wine to the Roland Remoissenet trading house, but most wines are now bottled under its own label. And these are not the least!

The winery owns plots in the Grand Cru vineyards of Clos du Roi (Corton), Les Grands Echézeaux (Flagey) and Le Montrachet (Chassagne), but also owns vineyards in Premier Cru Givry. The winery is located in Givry, where the 18th century cellar is located in the center. Comes from the Grand Cru vineyard 'Clos du Roi' in the AOC Corton. The soil consists of clay and lime.

The grapes come from the upper part of the vineyard, which is considered superior to the lower part. Fermentation takes place very traditionally in open wooden vats. The wine then matures further in wood for 18 months.
