A Chinese famille rose "Imperial wedding" bowl. China. Iron-red mark translates to 'Baragon Tumed'.
The deep rounded sides flare slightly at the rim. Brightly enameled around the exterior with seven leaf-shaped panels enclosing the Buddhist emblems of the 'Seven Regal Treasures' including the Queen, the Minister, the General, the Wheel of Law, elephant, horse and jewel within, supported on lotus blooms above stylized waves and rocks, below a band of tasseled lion-mask lappets, all between shou characters separated by bajixiang, the interior with a single lotus flower bloom, a 'Baragon Tumed' mark in iron red Mongolian script on the base.

These bowls form part of a service made at the Imperial factories to celebrate the marriage of the Daoguang Emperor's daughter, Gurun Princess Shou'an (12 May 1826 - 23 April 1860), to a Mongolian prince of the Tumed banner, Demchüghjab, in 1842 (according to some sources in 1841).

Dimensions: diameter – 11,5 cm; height – 6 cm. Weight – 140 g.
Provenance: private collection, Berlin, Germany.
Conditions report: excellent condition, tiny chip with associated hairline to the foot-rim, scratches to the glaze (some shown on pictures) and minimal wear to enamels and gilding. Minor firing faults. Strong white light tested. Check pictures for details.
