This is a fine example of the Dutch style after the turn of the 17th century. Arcadian landscapes highly influenced by Claude Lorrain and Nicolas Poussin were very fashionable in these French orientated times.

Excellent impression on laid paper. Full plate border and margins. Excellent condition.
Design: Johannes Glauber (1646, 1726)
Painter and etcher. pupil of Nicolaes Berchem in Amsterdam; in Rome member of the Bent and received nickname Polidoro; returned to Amsterdam; 1687 in The Hague; later Schoonhoven in Holland where he died.
Made Italianizing landscapes, influenced by Poussin; etchings with landscapes,
Engraved by: Adriaan van der Laan (1680-1742) Amsterdam
