This is the third volume in La Grande Histoire du Jazz, a collection of 100 jazz CDs assembled by two great French jazz enthusiasts André François (1925 - 2019) and Jean Schwarz.

This volume was released in 2010 and contains 25 CDs recorded between May 1955 and November 1957, concentrating on the transition from Hard Bop to Cool Jazz, but also including traditional jazz, big bands and jazz vocalists. In total there are 340 separate tracks and more than 30 hours of jazz. The titles and artists on the tracks of each of the 25 individual CDs are shown in the photos.

The artists include Miles Davis, Gerry Mulligan, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, Dave Brubeck, Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson and very many more big stars of jazz.

The CDs are housed in a solid 13 cm cube-shaped box with a lid, decorated with images of jazz musicians, as shown in the photos. The CDs are in cardboard sleeves. This box set also contains a 166-page booklet in English and French, giving detailed background information on the historic context of the jazz on each CD and listing the tracks and all the artists playing on them, along with the date and location of each recording. Pages from this booklet are shown in the photos.

The CDs are in Excellent condition, having hardly been played.
