An interesting selection of early Australia (1913 - 1936) featuring the King George V head series. 34 pages of examples, with mint and used stamps. The first 18 pages list the various prints of the series through the 23 years of issue.

The last 16 pages feature a study of the numerous errors, Flaws and "Rust" Flaws that affected this series. These pages show enlargement of each stamp to more easily demonstrate the flaw. A really interesting addition to an Australian collection.

A number of these "Rust on the printing plate" flaws are not listed in Stanley Gibbons Catalogue, but from the stamp magazine article included, are known to Australian collectors. Please study the numerous photographs to help with your consideration of this lot, they are an important part of the description, thanks. The Gibbons Catalogue of 2005 shows the CV at £1650+, but many of the flaws on the last 16 pages not listed, so the valuation is possibly on the lower side,. It's a no reserve, €1 start auction, so must be worth a bid or two!
