This set includes three traditional Japanese kitchen knives: a usuba bocho, santoku bocho, and gyuto knife, each with distinctive wooden handles and blades that display a time-worn patina. These knives are handcrafted, with visible wear from prolonged use, adding character and showcasing their durability. The handles of the usuba and santoku feature engraved kanji inscriptions, identifying the makers as "Kaneyoshimaru" (兼由丸) and "Masazumi" (正澄), reflecting the artisanal craftsmanship of traditional Japanese bladesmithing.

The usuba bocho is a rectangular knife, traditionally used for precision vegetable cutting, with a rusted blade and a weathered handle.
The santoku bocho is an all-purpose knife with a wide, gently curved blade for cutting meat, vegetables, and fish. It exhibits some rust and wear, indicating its frequent use in the kitchen.
The gyuto knife, a Japanese adaptation of the Western chef's knife, features a pointed tip and slightly curved blade, ideal for slicing meat. Its handle is designed with a modern two-rivet construction.
