A rare reticulated 'Longquan' celadon glazed censer, Yuan dynasty 14th century. The censer is standing on a tapered foot and widens to straight wall, which is reticulated and incised to look like a fence. The inside has an extra cylinder for the placement of incense.

Acquired in Japan from a private collection.

Import of Longquan ware to Japan started during the Yuan dynasty by Buddhist monks. The Tenryu-ji temple in Kyoto had the sole-right for import and distribution of Longquan ware. Thus old Longquan ware is often called Tenryu ware in Japanese. This censer probably was sold true this temple.

Reference:
A identical censer in the: Collection of Qingyuan County Cultural Relics Management Committee. (See photo's).

Condition (sold 'as is'):
The censer is covered with stained crackles in the glaze, some reticulated pieces re-glued and retouched, two 'fence-points' restored. Please check the photo's carefully to asses the condition as described.

Dimensions :
H10,5 x 11,1 cm

Shipping method: The item is securely packed and shipped with insurance without stand or doll house vase.

Parfait, mais j'aurais aimé avoir un coffret d'emballage pour cette belle théière. Je m'interroge sur la véritable datation de cette théière. quel est le thé qui a été utilisé avec cette théière ?
