Please be aware that this evaluation may take 2-3 weeks. 【Product details】 This life-sized genuine samurai armor set is a striking piece of history, featuring the distinguished crest of the Shimazu Clan, known as "Circle Cross," prominently displayed on the chest. The Shimazu Clan was a prominent samurai family and nobility that held significant territories, primarily in Satsuma (present-day Kagoshima Prefecture), from the Kamakura period to the early Meiji era. The founder of the clan, Shimazu Tadahisa, was granted the prestigious "Shimazu Estate" by Minamoto no Yoritomo, making it one of the largest estates in southern Kyushu. The armor is a complete set designed to offer full protection, including a helmet, half mask with throat guard, chest armor, waist armor, armored sleeves, and shin guards. Despite signs of aging such as abrasions, scratches, stains, dirt, lacquer peeling, discoloration, rust, fabric tears, and broken straps, this armor remains a significant and captivating artifact. Note that the Maetate 前立て crest is fixed with tape in the images as it cannot be mounted properly. The supporting stand and the wooden storage box are not included; only the armor is being sold. Please review the photos carefully to assess the condition. Though the storage box is NOT included, the dimensions of a similar box are provided for reference: approx.
