Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS, and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Well-defined closely-packed, unequilibrated chondrules (apparent diameter 810 ± 270 µm, N = 26) are set in a sparse fine-grained matrix containing kamacite (stained with secondary Fe oxides), taenite, and troilite.
Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.1±11.5, range Fa0.6-33.2, N =8; Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.03-0.10 wt.%, mean 0.05 wt.%, sd 0.02 wt.%, N = 13), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs22.3±19.9Wo1.6±1.9, range Fs0.4-55.8Wo0.2-4.7, N = 7), pigeonite (Fs10.9Wo15.1), subcalcic augite (Fs13.8Wo33.6), augite (Fs14.2±1.9Wo39.1±2.4, range Fs12.8-15.5Wo40.8-37.4, N = 2). Magnetic susceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.43.

Nice slice of L3 chondrite! When receiving, it looks less impressive then on photo's, but most of those are taken with polarized filter I suppose. Real thing still impressive, even with my glasses on!
